The Grand Challenge is designed to enable the iLEAD cohort to work collaboratively to develop innovative projects that respond to real world challenges and opportunities in Â鶹´«Ã½ around three key themes, and link to the overall aim of the iMayflower programme, which is to deliver a sustainable step-change in Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s creative economy and make Â鶹´«Ã½ a more attractive place to live, work and visit.

iLEAD Grand Challenge Immersion Session, January 2021
In January’s Immersion Session, key stakeholders from across the city will meet virtually with the cohort to share their views and insights to help inform the focus and design of the Grand Challenge projects. Relating to their own activity and expertise linked to the themes, stakeholders will focus on key opportunities and challenges in Â鶹´«Ã½, sharing them through short presentations and breakout discussions.
Following the event inspiration, teams will form around three to four project ideas to be developed over the duration of the iLEAD programme. The scope and size of potential projects is not tightly defined – they could include, for example, the design and/or implementation of innovative products, services and experiences, new models for collaboration between organisations, or proposals/business cases for large-scale and longer-term interventions which would require significant additional funding to deliver.A project advisory board will provide support to the Grand Challenge teams to help maximise the impact and success of their projects, providing strategic advice, guidance and feedback, facilitating relevant network connections and introductions, providing access to appropriate resources and support and regularly reviewing and monitoring progress.
